Lubricating oil spilled from a ship docked at the Port of Tauranga yesterday.
The oil began spilling from the Panamanian log carrier Susaki Wing at 7.15am after an apparent engine-room malfunction.
Most of the spill was contained, but a crew was to return to finish the clean-up today.
