A man armed with a shotgun stole only tobacco during an early morning robbery in Ohakune today.
The aggravated robbery took place at the Rendezvous Dairy in the central North Island town about 5am.
A police spokeswoman said a man armed with a double-barrelled shotgun walked into the dairy and pointed the shotgun at the male owner, demanding tobacco. No-one else was in the dairy at the time and no one was injured. The man got away with three to four packets of Port Royal tobacco, worth up to $185.
The man was wearing a green coloured Swanndri with his hood up, a balaclava or similar, dark pants and black army-style boots. He was about 1.8m tall, and of slim to medium build.
