Office sex-romp pair no longer working for firm

Christchurch bar customers watched and filmed a couple having sex in a nearby office in January.

The two office workers caught in a high-profile sex romp with the lights on are no longer employed by the Christchurch firm they were with at the time.

It was not the first encounter between the 50-year-old married senior manager at Marsh Ltd and the English-born 25-year-old woman, sources have revealed.

The pair have not returned to work since the late-night romp on January 30 that was witnessed and filmed by dozens of drinkers at Carlton Bar and Eatery across Papanui Rd.

Confidentiality agreements prevent all parties from speaking, it is understood. The man, who has two teenage children to his wife, who found out about the affair only after seeing the images on Facebook, refused to comment when approached at his Sumner home this week.

The insurance company's bosses launched an employment investigation after the sex session made international headlines.

A Marsh spokeswoman said the company "could not provide any comment" on the conclusions of their internal inquiry.

It's not known whether the wife is standing by the man. She did not respond to queries from NZME. News Service this week.

The younger woman involved in the affair is also keeping a low profile and has moved out of the house where she had been staying close to her fiance.

After the footage went viral, the fiance - a Christchurch builder - phoned a radio station to defend the woman as a "a really nice person" and claim that they had split up some six months beforehand.

But NZME. News Service understands that the pair - who met while travelling in Australia - had been "on a break" at the time and that the engagement had not been officially called off.

"She is a beautiful person but she's been such a silly girl who has made such a silly mistake that has had such massive repercussions for so many people," a source close to events said.

The woman is said to have been mortified by how the affair was exposed so publicly.

"She is not proud at all," said one person close to her. "She wants to just cut all ties with everyone." NZME.
