KEY POINTS:
Three people escaped after a fire broke out in their home at Arrowtown early today.
A Fire Service communications spokeswoman said the fire started at about 4am and four fire units from Arrowtown and nearby Frankton were dispatched to the scene.
Two females and a male managed to escape the blaze.
The house was extensively damaged and fire safety representatives were working to establish how it started.
