One man was arrested and another taken to hospital in a serious condition after a party got out of control in Oamaru.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge said police received numerous calls from neighbours about the party and early on Saturday morning a 21-year old man was taken to Oamaru Hospital with deep cuts and serious lacerations.
Police believe a broken bottle may have been used in the assault. A man aged 20 faces charges of assault and assault on a female.
