A second man has been charged with the murder of Otago farm worker Justin McFarlane, who died in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police working on the investigation, named Operation Steelers, arrested a 22-year-old Oamaru man late yesterday afternoon. He will appear in the Dunedin District Court tomorrow charged with murder.
His arrest follows Friday's arrest of 18-year-old Steven Kenneth Boskell, of Palmerston, who was also charged with murder.
Mr McFarlane, 35, was found dead in his home in rural Elderslie, about 10 kilometres from Oamaru, in the early hours of Wednesday.
The alarm was raised by a fellow dairy worker who called at the house after Mr McFarlane did not arrive at work. His car was found burnt out about 25km away.
