KEY POINTS:
Two investigations are under way into the death of a 10-year-old boy on a farm near Oamaru today.
A police spokesman said the boy was riding his motorcycle on a private road on a dairy farm when he crashed into a 4WD vehicle.
Police were called about 12.50pm.
The spokesman said the motorcycle and the ute collided head-on at low speed on the brow of a hill.
The boy died of his injuries, while the driver of the ute was not hurt.
Police and the Department of Labour are investigating.
