NZQA wants to scrap the one-off ';hook on'; fee of 25 dollars. It plans to increase the fee for each credit from one dollar to one dollar-55. The proposal would not affect secondary school students.
NZQA Chief Executive Karen Poutasi says the credit registration fee has remained unchanged for 15 years. She says the increase reflects the actual cost of maintaining the qualifications framework.
