nzherald.co.nz has been named a finalist for 2010 news website of the year in Asia and the Pacific.
Fifty-three judges from 12 countries, including the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, last night announced the Panpa Awards shortlist, with nzherald.co.nz named as one of the finalists alongside Adelaide Now, The Age, The Australian, news.com, st.com.sg and stuff.co.nz.
The New Zealand Herald is a finalist for the best daily newspaper with a circulation of more than 90,000.
In June, the Herald won the Qantas Award for best daily newspaper in New Zealand.
Five Herald photographers - Sarah Ivey, Alan Gibson, Dean Purcell, Brett Phibbs and Babiche Martens - are all finalists in categories for photograph of the year.
Other APN finalists in their categories are our sister paper, the Herald on Sunday, as well as the Aucklander and regional newspapers Northland Age, Bay of Plenty Times, Daily Post, Hawke's Bay Today, and Wanganui Chronicle.
