An Auckland woman who had been to a World War II evacuees' reunion in England has died in a car crash in Hampshire during her holiday.
Joy Watson was a passenger in a collision with another car. The 74-year-old had attended the evacuees' service at St Paul's Cathedral in London.
Her family describes her as a complete original, an absolute one-off, larger-than-life character.
She has a daughter in Australia and son in New Zealand.
