The Defence Force will today present the findings of a Court of Inquiry into two incidents which resulted in the deaths of five New Zealand soldiers in Afghanistan last year.
On August 4, Lance Corporals Rory Malone and Pralli Durrer died in a firefight in the province of Bamiyan. Just two weeks later, Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker, Private Richard Harris and Corporal Luke Tamatea were killed when their patrol vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in the same province.
Ten New Zealanders died in Afghanistan in the 10 years Kiwi troops were stationed there. They withdrew earlier this year.
