The body of a woman who died in a house fire in Egypt last week is being brought back to New Zealand.
Anna Bougen, former wife of Auckland businessman John Bougen, died in a fire at her home in Cairo last Thursday, with her golden retriever by her side.
A funeral service will be held in Auckland on Saturday.
An Arabic speaker, Mrs Bougen, 47, had lived for the past two years in Cairo, where she was co-director of an importing and exporting business.
She had been due to return to New Zealand to spend Christmas with her family.
Daughter Nic Bougen said her mother fell in love with Cairo on her first visit there five years ago.
