South African police are looking at laying charges after a New Zealand tourist died in a car crash about 100km east of Port Elizabeth in the eastern Cape Province.
Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender told the Daily Dispatch newspaper police were investigating culpable homicide charges after four people were killed.
An eyewitness told the South African Press Association the driver of a light vehicle apparently lost control, slid sideways and collided with an oncoming car, driven by the New Zealander.
The tourist died at the scene.
Two occupants of the light vehicle died on impact and a third died in hospital. All three were municipal employees.
The names of the dead are yet to be released.
