New Zealand troops in the Solomons have come to the rescue of a woman who had been assaulted earlier this week.
The 44 New Zealand Defence Force personnel arrive home from their four-month deployment on Sunday.
Senior National Officer Major Grant McMillan said troops travelling through Honiara noticed a car ahead being driven erratically.
They forced the car to stop and removed a woman who had been restrained by her hair by the male driver.
