KEY POINTS:
New Zealand is the second-best country for emigration, according to a new survey of Britons living abroad. Nine out of 10 of the British expatriates surveyed said they had a better quality of life, and two-thirds of them did not plan to return, the BBC reports.
Canada was rated the best country to emigrate to, followed by New Zealand and Portugal. The strongest reason for leaving was to find a better quality of life, followed by the standard and cost of living in the UK.
More than three-quarters of respondents - 76 per cent - said they felt homesick some or all of the time, missing family and friends, traditions and culture, and the British sense of humour.
