NZ Post backs down over legal action

New Zealand Post will not pursue legal action against National Party leader Jenny Shipley for releasing confidential details on the People's Bank.

The state-owned enterprise threatened legal action after Mrs Shipley released parts of the bank's business plan last week.

However NZ Post says it has decided not to take the matter further because Mrs Shipley has shredded the confidential documents on the bank.

A spokesperson says NZ Post will be asking Mrs Shipley where she got her copy of the plan.
