KEY POINTS:
New Zealand police have spoken with murder accused Nai Yin Xue, who has been held in a detention centre in the US state of George since his capture last week.
Two New Zealand officers are in America to try to piece together Xue';s movements since he fled New Zealand for Los Angeles, abandoning his three-year-old daughter at a Melbourne train station on the way.
He is wanted in connection with the alleged murder of his wife An Liu, whose body was found in the boot of his company car outside the couple's Auckland house last September.
Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Scott said the investigation was going well, but he would not comment on the details of his conversation with Xue, other than to say he appeared healthy.
US authorities are taking steps to deport Xue.
