Labour MP Jacinda Ardern is relieved none of her close friends were killed in Friday's massacre in Norway which claimed at least 93 lives.
Right-wing Christian gunman, Anders Behring Breivic, 32, dressed in police uniform, went on killing spree shooting dead 85 men, women and children at a youth summer camp on Utoeya Island, near Oslo, after setting off a car bomb in the capital killing another seven people.
The toll could reach 98.
Ms Ardern told NZPA she knew a lot of people in Norway's AUF Labour Party Youth Movement, who were at the camp during Friday's shootings.
"I've managed to locate the people I know well. I know of at least two who were on the island when it happened including the president of AUF, who witnessed everything, so it's obviously a very distressing time for them.
