The parents of a young Timaru man hit by a bus in London have flown to the United Kingdom to be with him.
Daniel Tiplady, 24, is fighting for his life in a London hospital after being hit by a bus earlier this week.
He is understood to have suffered a severe brain injury and is in a coma, the Timaru Herald reported.
Daniel, or "Tanner" as he is known to his friends, was formerly a student at Roncalli College and played rugby for the Celtic Rugby Club.
He was enjoying his overseas experience (OE) in the UK when the accident happened.
His Facebook site has been flooded with messages of support from friends and family and a group entitled "Prayers are with Daniel Tiplady and his family" has been set up.
One friend who flats in England with Daniel wrote a message thanking everyone in New Zealand for their prayers and support.
"It means so much to his family and they are so grateful for everything that everyone is doing."
