A former Wanganui man has been convicted of assaulting a Sydney father and fracturing the skull of the infant daughter he was carrying during the attack.
In the New South Wales District Court yesterday, Lloyd Penrice, 22, was found guilty with Eric McKenna, 25, of the bashing at Maroubra, in Sydney's south-east, in August 2003.
The victim, who cannot be named, was knocked unconscious.
His daughter, who also cannot be named, fractured her skull and suffered bleeding on the brain.
The defendants each pleaded not guilty to one count of maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm against the baby, and to one of assaulting her father. They will be sentenced on December 2.
