NZ magazine editor stands by 'alien' footage

The editor of a New Zealand magazine is standing by footage of an image apparently showing a dead alien, despite a suggestion the clip is from a 2006 movie starring British television presenters Ant and Dec.

The magazine UNCENSORED has printed grainy black and white photos and a short clip of a group of military people appearing to study an alien-like form on a stretcher.

The accompanying article, written by magazine editor Jonathan Eisen, said the dead alien was probably from the 1947 Roswell crash and the footage had enough clues to accurately date the footage from the late 1940s.

However, the Mirror newspaper reported the footage had since been identified as a clip from the 2006 film Alien Autopsy starring Declan Donnelly and Anthony McPartlin - known as Ant and Dec.

The internet Movie Database website said the comedy film was a reconstruction of the 1995 scandal when two British young men were accused of having faked a documentary from the Roswell incident in 1947.

Isaac Koi, who specialised in studying UFO film footage, said the magazine's footage was the work of artist John Humphreys who had confirmed he made the alien being, the Mirror reported.

But Eisen told NZME. that he was confident the footage was authentic.

There was nothing in Alien Autopsy that showed the same images, he said.

The clip was studied by a well known Mexican journalist, who Eisen said he was not at liberty to name, but who said the footage was legitimate.

"It has not been analysed by film archivists, Kodak, to the best of my knowledge," he said.

"Alien Autopsy is a rather obvious hoax, I don't think that this is a hoax."
