Plans to fly the five flag-change candidates from Aotea Centre in central Auckland have been delayed until tomorrow while the current New Zealand flag flies at half-mast for Paris.
The flags were raised yesterday but a spokesman for Aotea Centre said following call from the Government today saying all flags were to fly at half mast, they were taken back down.
He said it seemed disrespectful to fly the potential new flags at full height while the official flag was lowered.
Because Red Peak and the gang were not official flags, it did not feel appropriate to fly them at half mast either, he said, so they have been taken down for 24 hours.
The five options will be raised again tomorrow ahead of the flag change referendum which
opens on Friday and runs until December 11.
