Ten Fisher Price products sold in New Zealand in the last seven years are being recalled by international toy company Mattel because of various safety concerns.
The company is recalling about 10 million toys and other children's products worldwide because of the potential for serious injuries.
There have been no reports of injuries in New Zealand relating to the 4200 local products, but customers are asked to stop using them and contact Mattel for a repair kit, refund or replacement.
"Our greatest concern has always rested with the safety of the children who play with our toys, which is why we have responded promptly in an effort to maintain the trust of the families that have allowed us to be part of their lives," the company said on its website.
Three makes of Fisher Price high chairs have been recalled - the Healthy Care, Close to Me and Easy Clean - because of tray storage pegs on the rear legs that children could cut themselves on.
About 510 of the high chairs were sold at department stores and nursery retailers between 2006 and 2009.
The Little People Wheelies Stand'n'Play rampway has also been recalled, because the wheels on the vehicles could detach and pose a choking hazard.
About 452 of the toys were sold at Farmers and other toy shops last month.
Also recalled were three inflatable ball toys - Ocean Wonders Kick & Crawl Aquariums, Baby Gymtastics 1-2-3 Tetherball, and Baby Gymtastics Bat & Score Goal - because the valve could detach and pose a choking hazard.
More than 3000 of the toys were sold at department stores and other toy retailers between October 2003 and July 2008.
Customers can contact Mattel New Zealand on 0800 174 063 Monday to Friday, or Saturday from 11am to 6pm.
