KEY POINTS:
New Zealand First is expected to decide today what it will do with its donation to Auckland's Starship Hospital, which was rejected.
The $158,000 is the amount the party was deemed to have overspent at the last election.
It chose to give it to the hospital, rather than to Parliamentary Services but hospital management returned the money two days later, accusing party leader Winston Peters of trying to gain political capital and media leverage.
Mr Peters in turn accused the media of elitism, saying there were plenty of other good causes around.
Party sources expect a decision on who will benefit, or whether the money may actually end up with Parliamentary Services, will be made at tonight's board meeting.
