The New Zealand First caucus has delayed a decision about whether it will challenge the Auditor-General's report on election spending until it hears from a lawyer.
Deputy leader Peter Brown said yesterday the caucus wanted lawyers to discuss the matter with the MPs.
The Auditor-General found NZ First spent $157,934 unlawfully in the three months before the 2005 election.
