New Zealand director Vincent Ward's Rain of the Children will vie with international award-winners such as Mike Leigh and Australian directors for the inaugural Sydney Film Prize at this year's Sydney Film Festival.
The festival is the first in Australia to have an official competition accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations.
