A New Zealand man living in Australia has been jailed for eight months for causing the car crash that almost killed internationally renowned conductor and composer Dobbs Franks.
Lukas Taynor Rarere, 29, was driving drunk at high speed in Perth on May 26 when he changed lanes and struck the rear of Mr Franks' BMW.
Mr Franks, 72, spent five weeks in an induced coma.
