The world is powering down in support of Earth Hour, a global climate change event which encourages nations to switch off their lights for an hour.
Earth Hour's aim is to encourage collective action in reducing energy use and carbon emissions.
New Zealand led the way, with Kiwis cutting their power use between 8.30 and 9.30 this evening.
