New Zealand's efforts to combat global warming have been punished at the South Africa climate change conference by the Climate Action Network.
The network, which is made up of about 500 organisations promoting sustainable climate change solutions, hands out Fossil of the Day awards.
New Zealand received the runner-up award for its proposal of a flexibility mechanism to allow a single forest to be traded multiple times in bilateral agreements.
And it won joint first place for "inconsistency" on the Kyoto Protocol.
