KEY POINTS:
A New Zealand woman who recently moved to Canada to marry at Christmas has been killed in a road accident.
Veronica Searle, 40, was struck by a car as she crossed a road in Kitchener, Ontario, the Guelph Mercury newspaper reported.
It quoted police as saying that they were investigating whether Ms Searle was struck when she used a crosswalk on a red light, or the car ran the red lights.
The paper said Ms Searle moved to Canada earlier this year for her Christmas wedding to a Canadian man she met in New Zealand.
