French prosecutors have opened a full criminal investigation into the Nazi-themed stag night attended by UK Tory MP Aidan Burley at an Alpine ski resort.
The shamed MP, along with the 12 other guests, could be summoned to France to face charges of defending war crimes or crimes against humanity and inciting racial hatred.
Mr Burley, 33 - who was born in Auckland to British parents - was caught on film at the stag party, where the groom-to-be wore an SS outfit and guests chanted "Hitler, Hitler".
One guest sitting beside the MP was filmed raising a toast to "the ideology of the Third Reich" at the La Fondue restaurant in the resort of Val Thorens on December 3.
A preliminary probe was launched in December after complaints from both La Fondue's manager and an anti- racism group.
