KEY POINTS:
A Palmerston North nurse who removed and stored sedatives prescribed for a patient has been found guilty of professional misconduct.
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, at the end of a two-day hearing in Palmerston North, today found Morgan Goodman was not guilty of taking the pills for her own use.
However, a charge of professional misconduct was still proven.
A penalty would be released in due course, a tribunal spokeswoman said.
The tribunal was told Ms Goodman removed 46 prescription sedative pills, almost a month's supply, on April 19 at the health care facility where she worked.
She removed these from a patient's folder.
The identity and details of the patient, and the names of the care facility and its owner are suppressed.
