A group of Kuranui College students took to the streets of Greytown to help Wellington Free Ambulance with its annual street appeal.
Kuranui College principal Geoff Shepherd was delighted the college could be involved in the collection on behalf of the service.
"It's important that our students are responsible for helping to contribute to their community. We are fortunate to have a free ambulance service in the Wairarapa and this service touches every aspect of our community," he said.
"We are looking forward to building our relationship with Wellington Free Ambulance and are committed to helping them with their fundraising on an ongoing basis. As well as providing assistance with future appeals, we are also looking to encourage some of our students to take up careers with the organisation."
Wellington Free Ambulance provides a range of services as the sole emergency ambulance provider for the people of greater Wellington, including Wairarapa. Money raised by the students goes to key areas such as funding emergency ambulances and paramedic staff as well as lifesaving equipment.
