The man accused of shooting and murdering Leslie Putt has pleaded not guilty and is set to stand trial next year.
Bodi McKee, 23, appeared in the Auckland High Court this morning charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Putt, 32, was shot and died shortly afterwards in Manurewa last month.
In court today, a date in August next year was set for McKee's trial.
As he was led back into custody after the hearing, he shouted "I love you" to his supporters.
