Not guilty plea in carjacking case that put woman in hospital

The teenager charged after a brutal carjacking in Panmure last month that put a 65-year-old woman in hospital has pleaded guilty to six charges.

At the Auckland District Court this afternoon, Lily Pritchard-Davis, 17, admitted four counts of burglary, two charges of unlawfully taking a vehicle and one charge of unlawfully getting into a Honda Accord.

But Pritchard-Davis has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the alleged carjacking and aggravated robbery and will go on trial before a jury next year.

Pritchard-Davis appeared in the Auckland District Court this afternoon via an audio-visual link from Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility where she is in custody.

Throughout her appearance, Pritchard-Davis giggled and waved at family and friends in the courtroom.

At one point she was cautioned by the judge and told to be quiet and court security ordered some of her supporters to leave.

Just before the link was cut, she yelled: "Love yous."

Pritchard-Davis was remanded in custody until her next appearance next year.​

Nancy Voon, 65, was attacked and her car stolen last month. She suffered broken facial bones and police launched a public appeal for information.
