Lorraine Kerr gets so much satisfaction from being on a board of trustees that she sits on three.
She spends at least 20 hours a week on board work as treasurer of Tauhara Primary School in Taupo, chairwoman of Taupo Intermediate and deputy chairwoman of Taupo Nui-A-Tia College.
"Some people think I am crazy, but I just love it."
She attends at least five meetings a week and is also involved in offering training to other boards of trustees in the Bay of Plenty. Add to that her recent election to the national executive of the School Trustees Association and her fulltime job working in a school and she is a very busy woman.
Mrs Kerr has been a trustee since 1989 when she joined the board of her children's primary school. "When they moved on I moved with them but I did not cut the ties with the others."
She says there is a huge amount of satisfaction in seeing the boards' decisions improving schools and setting directions.
