A new TV channel for Northland goes to air tonight after three years in development.
The not-for-profit station draws on volunteer support and will be opened with a welcome by kaumatua Joe Rudolph and Fred Tito and a performance by members of the Whangarei Youth Orchestra.
Broadcasting of Channel North Television begins at 7pm and is available to 47,000 households in Whangarei and surrounding areas.
