Police say a man convicted of sexual abuse in the early 1990s has more victims and they're being asked to come forward.
Bruce Anderson, 58, was sentenced at the Manukau District Court today to four years and nine months in prison after pleading guilty to three representative and two specific sexual abuse charges.
The charges related to sexual offending against two young boys aged 11 and 13, in the early 1990's when he lived in the Northland town of Tinopai where he worked as a dairy farmer.
Detective Inspector Gary Lendrum, of Counties Manukau Police, said they believe Anderson has more victims.
"This has been a lengthy investigation and based on the information we have gathered through the course of our enquiry, we believe there are likely to be more victims out there.
"People may not know that there is no time limit for reporting a sexual crime, it doesn't matter if it happened yesterday, last week, last year or a decade ago" said Detective Inspector Lendrum.
Bruce Anderson moved to Auckland around 1994-1995, spent some time working on the North Shore and has spent the last 10 or so years in Papakura.
Lendrum said contacting police doesn't automatically mean it will to go to court as there are many options police have depending on the victim's wishes.
"At the very least, we can provide people with access to specialist services such as counselling."
