A Northland rest home has taken the executor of a family trust to court to recover more than $51,000 in unpaid residential care fees.
Bupa Care Services, which runs Kauri Coast Rest Home and Hospital in Dargaville, has filed papers in the High Court at Whangarei to recover $51,759 owed for the care of Gordon John Gillibrand from May 2003 to April 2011, when he died.
Bupa claims the amount was outstanding as at June 4.
Son Christian John Gillibrand, the probate-holder of his father's estate, has been served with court papers.
The rest home also wants the High Court to remove the son as executor of the estate.
