Making the move from high school to tertiary study should become easier thanks to a Northland Polytechnic initiative.
The polytechnic is working with high schools in the region to match their senior curriculum subjects with the first year of polytechnic study.
It is also working with the Manukau Institute of Technology, which developed the idea of curriculum alignment after research showed inconsistencies in the level of knowledge required by school leavers in their first year of tertiary education.
