Northland man killed by tractor

A 47-year-old man was killed yesterday after a tractor ran over him on a farm in the Cape Reinga district.

Police believe the tractor rolled over him while he was repairing it at a farm on Far North Rd. It is not known whether the victim was the farmer or a mechanic working on the farm.

The man was airlifted to Kaitaia Hospital but died of his injuries.
