Northland man in fatal road accident named

Police have named the 29-year-old man who was killed after being struck by a car in Northland overnight.

He was a local man, Sheridan David Snowden.

Snowden was found near a car on its side in a ditch on Russell Road, Oakura, 50km north of Whangarei.

He died at the scene.

Police said they were investigating whether he was struck by the car in the ditch or another vehicle that may have been involved in a collision with the car and left the scene.
