Save A fire which "totally destroyed" a house in the Far North last night may have been deliberately lit.
Fire Service northern communications spokesperson Scott Osmond said crews were called to the blaze, on Takahe Road, Ahipara, about 10.30pm.
Four trucks - three from nearby Kaitaia and one from Ahipara -
responded to the callout.
Mr Osmond said the house fire was "fully involved" on arrival and the house has been "totally destroyed" by the blaze.
He said the fire was being treated as a possible arson and fire safety were investigating.
