Travellers using the Northern Gateway toll road this weekend are being advised to plan their trip in advance, with website payments and manual kiosks unavailable over the weekend.
The Transport Agency's website and kiosks on the toll road, north of Auckland on State Highway 1, will be offline from 2.30pm on Saturday to 7am Sunday while maintenance work is carried out on the toll system.
"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes for our customers, and we'll be working hard to have everything operating again in time for Mother's Day on Sunday," Sue Hardiman, the agency's tolling manager, said.
"The work has been scheduled for this time of the week because traffic volumes are relatively light, making it the best time to carry out work on our toll systems."
Users can buy their toll in advance, or pay within five days of using the road to avoid penalty.
