KEY POINTS:
Police have cordoned off streets in the Auckland suburb of Glenfield after a gas pipe was ruptured.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Edwards said the pipe was at the intersection of Glenfield and Manuka Rd on the North Shore.
He said it is believed contractors working in the area caused the rupture.
Mr Edwards said police are considering evacuating residents and businesses in the area.
