North Shore police hunt armed man

Police are hunting a man who may be armed with a knife after a domestic violence incident on Auckland's North Shore.

North Shore police said they were looking for Jay Jerome Reid, 27, after they were called to an incident at a house in the suburb of Belmont early this afternoon.

However, soon after they arrived the man fled.

The man could be armed with a knife and if sighted was not to be approached, police said.

The alleged female victim involved in the incident was being spoken to by police.
