A masked man armed with a large knife threatened the owners of a North Shore dairy and stole tobacco.
The robber struck at the Ding Dong Dang Dairy in suburban Hillcrest about 12.30pm, and the dairy owners were left shocked, but otherwise unharmed.
Police say the offender then fled from the Moore St dairy and ran north, through Monarch Park, into Monarch Avenue, and then into Eban Avenue, where he was last seen.
During his escape he discarded items of property and clothing including a knife, a leather jacket and a comic patched hoodie.
Detective Shane Page, of North Shore CIB, said someone would know who was wearing the discarded clothing, and the comic patched hoodie should be easily recognised.
Police described the offender as a Caucasian man, of medium to tall height, and slim build. His age was not known.
He was wearing sunglasses, red coloured cloth or bandana, dark brown jacket, a comic patched hoodie and light blue jeans.
