Hastings shearer Dion King was back to winning form after taking out the title of North Island Shearer of the Year in Te Kuiti last night.
He gained the title over fellow Hawke's Bay shearer Rowland Smith in a close final.
The victory follows King's win at the South Island Shears final in Gore last month.
