Health officials hope the suspected norovirus outbreak at an Auckland rest home is almost over.
Thirty of the 90 staff and residents at Mercy Parklands hospital and retirement home in Ellerslie have been experiencing symptoms including stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhoea.
The number of new cases dropped yesterday to just six residents and two visitors, with only seven still showing symptoms last night.
Auckland Regional Public Health Service medical officer of health Simon Baker said it looked as though things were under control.
