An Auckland kindergarten is flabbergasted after noise control officers turned up to a kids' disco where Bob the Builder music was apparently being played too loud.
One Tree Hill Kindergarten in Auckland was holding its annual two hour affair on Friday night when a neighbour decided to spoil the fun.
Teacher Jenny Skerritt said noise control officers turned up at 6.30pm, just half-an-hour before the party finished.
"They were a bit sheepish actually, I mean they were a bit embarrassed to have to come to us. But obviously there was a complaint so they had to follow it through, so they just really asked us to turn the music down a little bit."
Miss Skerritt said the music was not loud enough to upset babies and young children. She said they were playing pre-school children's songs such as Bob the Builder and The Chicken Dance.
Miss Skerritt said no one had ever complained before and she was surprised that anyone would take offence to the noise coming from a small disco for kids.
